Yes, this is a smoke detector and yes, I did set it off today: for the second time this week. Don't worry, there wasn't a real fire or anything. No, I didn't burn anything while cooking either. This smoke detector in my college roomie and her hubby's new apartment is in such a way that if you're not careful, the steam from the shower will set off the alarm. Luckily, it did not go off until about 10 minutes later cuz that could have been a bit embarrassing...
